About Us
Founded with a heart for the Christian community, KD Formation Group was established to provide the leadership development and church health consulting needed for modern discipleship. We believe that every leader is a vessel of transformation, and our mission is to equip them to lead with wisdom and compassion.
Allen Kleine Deters B.R.E, MDiv, brings more than four decades of ministry and leadership experience to his work with churches and organizations.
His experience includes senior pastoral leadership, church planting, congregational leadership, discipleship development, small groups, leadership coaching, spiritual formation, pastoral care, Healing Care and Formational Prayer, volunteer development, organizational leadership, teaching, training, and mentoring.
Allen is also the host and producer of Hope for the Agora, a podcast exploring the intersection of faith and mental health.
Throughout his ministry, one theme has remained constant:
Helping people grow.
Whether working with an individual leader, a staff team, a congregation, or an organization, Allen brings a pastoral heart, an organizational mind, a sense of humour, and a conviction that healthy transformation begins from the inside out.
KD Formation Group grew from that conviction.
Experience Matters. SO Does Listening

A Team Approach
Alongside Allen is his wife, Karen Kleine Deters, whose professional and ministry experience brings another important dimension to the work of KD Formation Group.
Karen is a retired Registered Nurse with 35 years of experience in nursing, including roles as a resource nurse, educator, mentor, coach, and change-management leader. She holds a BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) from Grand Canyon University.
Karen is also trained in Formational Prayer, Healing Care, and Spiritual Formation, bringing together her clinical experience, relational wisdom, and deep understanding of how people grow and change. Her background in healthcare has given her a particular appreciation for the whole person—mind, body, spirit, relationships, and environment—and for the importance of walking with people through seasons of change.
As a CAP Money coach and trainer, Karen also brings practical expertise in helping individuals and families develop healthier approaches to financial stewardship and decision-making.
Karen is committed to offering a safe place, investing in people, and positioning them to encounter Jesus. She believes that through formational prayer Jesus provides healing and wholeness in people's lives.
Together, Allen and Karen bring a unique blend of pastoral leadership, healthcare experience, spiritual formation, organizational development, coaching, mentoring, and change management. Their combined experience allows KD Formation Group to approach transformation not simply as a matter of strategy or structure, but as a deeply human and spiritual process.
